Welcome to the Development History page! On this page I will write the history and current status of the Sands of Time Project.

Version History (# of releases up to June 23, 03)

I began the project without giving it a name, the project was called Project-RYMIR! This game born in early June, when I was bored the storyline to this game just sort of game to me, at the time I hadn't been developing in RPG Maker since well about four or five months.  About June 8 or so, I began to actually work on the game itself, I just jumped in since I had plenty of charasets and chipsets that I had collected over the years.

- ProjectRYMIR: Alpha Test (June 11, 2003)

Technically, the first version to hit the net was ProjectRYMIR: alpha test, though this isn't AT ALL the game that I have today. It was basically a feature demo, I showed off my CBS (custom battle system), I had one for lengthy wars and one for duels. I also showed off a few mini-games. Since the CBS and mini-games were awfully buggy I removed them in the next release, and hold them off to the side today, eventually I want to remove the major bugs and re-implement them into the game.

- Sands of Time: Demo Version .5 (June 15, 2003)

I released the first REAL SoT demo just a few days after the Alpha Test, I no longer had any of the demo features available, I instead had a crappy playable game, the only thing going for it was the introduction, that still exists in the current version (I'm planning on upgrading it a bit in latter versions though). Around June 17 I accidentally f***ked up my game and had to hack into, and replace a few files manually, though I saved the game from utter ruin, it did wipe my database partially. I had to redo about 50% of the database information, so I spent the next two days redoing the database and fixing the actual game play...

- Sands of Time: Demo Version 1.0 (June 21, 2003)

I put up version 1.0 of the game, and I messed up while putting it on the RPG Arena, first I messed up the screenshots, then today (June 23) I was informed that the download wasn't compiled properly. As of June 23, 2003 I believe that 1.0 is up and running, I'm still waiting on people to test it and make sure its not overly buggy. I hope the next demo will be out soon, perhaps by the 28th of June. What's keeping me? I have gotten a lot further in the game than what demo 1.0 showed, but in the next demo (1.5?) I'm probably NOT going to go any further into the game as far as dungeons and playable areas are concerned, instead the next demo WILL concentrate on bug fixes, I know there is a heavy number in the game. The faster people email me and tell me the bugs, or leave a comment somewhere,  the faster I can fix them and release and improved demo. What do I constitute as a bug? Typos, continuous loops, not working characters, ect.

BY THE WAY: I have discovered the bug in the castle where one of the thieves remains even after the Queen comes back to tack the castle, yet the thief doesn't say anything, its fixed... BUT not in demo 1.0, its fixed and ready for the next version. Also, the beginning where you challenge Zarymir... expect it to look nice and not so ugly with the crappy graphical look by next version.

- Sands of Time: Demo Version 1.5 (June 26, 2003)

Its past midnight and now I have the good old version 1.5 out!

NEW FEATURES:

Larger, more complex dungeons!
Added puzzles, etc.
Hidden Towns (not yet finished will be by next version)

and more!

As far as demo versions are concerned... 1.5 was released in a hurry because of all the bugs in 1.0, therefore, a few things I wanted to get in aren't yet ready and included in 1.5, therefore, I'm planning on making a minor update, most likely under the name 1.6 or something, that fixes a few bugs that I catch and adds a few features like the hidden town and possibly being able to convert some people over to the cause of the new kingdom of Suigan (based off the old Suigan Empire that fell over a hundred years before this game)

Expect the new minor release to be out a ready no latter than July 1, 2003.
